CCCC College Donation
In 1971, Eugene Moore, President of Bear Creek Arsenal, received a degree in Tool and Die Making from Central Carolina Technical Institute (now Central Carolina Community College). He was able to utilize his knowledge to become a major manufacturer in the gun industry with four hundred state-of-the-art CNC machines housed in a three hundred forty thousand square feet facility.
Grateful for the success of Bear Creek Arsenal, Moore wanted to give back to Central Carolina Community College for the impact it had. In 2021, he donated two million dollars to the CCCC Foundation to help establish a satellite campus in Sanford, NC. In his honor, the college named it the E. Eugene Moore Manufacturing and Biotech Solutions Center.
The funds were directed in several areas: capital expenditures, specific major creations, and scholarships. His hope is that this facility will prepare students for high paying jobs in the manufacturing and biotech fields.
